I wouldn't say all UC students are in favor of the streetcar. It's a commuter school, so we have students driving in from the suburbs who would rather have downtown fade into oblivion than put any tax money into it.
They love their cars, would drive two yards before walking anywhere, and -- more often than random chance would have it -- look and talk like fat hicks.
Personally, I just wonder if the new streetcars would follow the same routes as they did sixty years ago. I mean, you can still see the tracks in front of Music Hall.
